Keep in mind, the rules and guidelines a child learns when he or she is young, will shape his life as he grows older. Being consistent is another trait of good parenting. For instance, if your rules change from day to day in an unpredictable way, your child's misbehaving will not be his fault; the fault will lie with you. To be successful in providing rules and guidelines, they must be consistent. Your child will, at first, see rules as unnecessary and mean but they are given out to protect and guide him in a way that will protect and lead him to a successful and productive life.

To conclude, good parenting is important in order to bring up children who later on will become productive and loving adults. In addition, be careful to avoid harsh discipline and always treat your child with respect and love. Good parenting is challenging and often frustrating; however, when you see your children turn into loving and caring adults, the results are certainly worth the effort!
